Last Night's Presidential Debate
Not much to say except Obama, operating without advanced knowledge of the questions or topics and unable to prepare a canned presentation, finally proved that he can't function without a teleprompter. Romney whooped Obama's ass, and next week on the 11th, I think that Ryan will wipe up the street with Biden in the VP debate. Nuff said about that.
My concern is the follow-on presidential debate. It's unlikely that Obama's staff will let the same thing happen then as happened last night. I just hate the idea that Obama may have an opportunity to finish strong in these debates.
As for the format of last night's debate, I think I rather liked it better than any format I've seen in previous debates. At least the candidates were not restricted to one 2-minute response to each other. They had ample time to fully explore each other's comments and thoughts regarding the issues dealt with. I hope the next time they meet to debate they will use the same format.

I think it was pretty obvious that Romney performed better. Still, I won't be voting for either of them.
@firetyger - Who are you voting for?
I agree with you that Romney won the debate but perhaps at too high a cost.
He seemed to disavow many of his pervious ideas and promises - for example the tax cut. If he really meant what he said about it being revenue neutral, why bother with the cut? If he is elected and proposes such a cut it may well be passed, but don't hold your breath waiting for the rewrite of the tax code and loss of deductions - what we will get is a government trying to make do with 20% less - which means larger deficits and debt. Oh yes, and without Big Bird.
Figure all the government programs you depend on and imagine your life without them; will it be better?
@CustomDesigned - Ron Paul or Gary Johnson.

That makes sense. I thought about voting for a better candidate vs the lesser of two evils. But as I look around me, I came to the conclusion that few people are ready for a real constitutional candidate, and the lesser of two evils it is for me. We need revival more that the right candidate.
@CustomDesigned - I see more and more people growing tired of candidates cut from the same cloth. Obama and Romney both support the provisions of the NDAA that allow the government to indefinitely detain Americans for any reason without a trial. As my husband is an OIF (operation iraqi freedom) veteran, he along with the other veterans of our wars, is considered a possible terrorist threat by the DHS. Ridiculous, isn't it? If the government decided to indefinitely detain veterans, they could, and they wouldn't have to tell anyone. Because of the NDAA. They can indefinitely detain anyone they want.
And this is why I will not vote for the lesser of two evils. Not even if I am the only one voting for a third party.
