  • Hero Pilot?

Ok, so the guy landed his plane on the Hudson River without loss of life or serious injury.  And I applaud that.  But has everyone completely forgotten that it takes two pilots to fly an airplane - and to land one.  The pilot, as captain, had final control of the touch down - uh, splashdown - but the copilot helped to set it up.  Let's not forget the co-pilot.  S/he wasn't there just for a free ride.  S/he helped land that plane too.

  • I think a lot of the reaction (over-reaction?) stems from the absolute terror folks in NYC must have felt when they looked out their office windows and saw that plane going down...

  • Good point, although the pilot does sound like a great guy. He even contacted the library to let them know that a book he checked out was lost in the plane, and the book was on professional ethics.

Can we dump Obama right now and make the pilot president?

  • @Monastro -

No, honesty is an immediate disqualifying factor for the office

  • Good point. The captain and the co-pilot must be great pilots. That doesn't mean they'd be good leaders for the country. Let's give Obama a chance, at least. George Buch had eight years! to create this mess, and Obama hasn't even had the first 100 days.

  • Hi there, I thought about the same thing too! Someone is thinking clearly.
