The Troubled Social Security System
How will spending hundreds of millions of dollars to promote population control abroad help the local national economy? Nancy P. says that it will help save dollars we spend on childrens aid programs. Has she considered reducing that spending abroad and spending more at home? Has she considered that every aborted child here at home is another adult that will never pay taxes and will never pay into the social security system.
Since Roe v. Wade, 43,000,000 children have been aborted in the United States alone. Had those 43,000,000 people lived to pay into the Social Security System, over a lifetime of living and working, they would have contributed almost $3.5 trillion dollars into the system (assuming an average of $2000 each annually over a 40 year work life), and that system might not be in trouble it's in now. When will these people ever look at what the consequences of their actions will be.
I guess the only good thing about this failure to see beyond their own noses is that it appears to be mostly Democrates favor these silly programs. That being the case, it seems reasonable to assume that the largest number of people having abortions are Democrates. Furthermore, since the children of Democrates generally grow up to be Democrates themselves, it would seem then that the Democrates are aborting their own future, and we will soon be rid of them. Oh what a glorious day that will be.

Socialism fails, every time...every place it's been done. We live in an age where people have no knowledge or care about history, so they see socialism as some great new thing. Hello? The USSR, anyone?
@NightCometh - Pure capitalism fails too.

1. These same children will be bleeding money from social security when they reach retirement age.
2. These same children will leech from their parents-- and a good number of would-be mothers aborted out of financial necessity.
@huginn - What evidence do you have of that?
@NightCometh - American history.
@huginn - You think America is a failure? Honestly? Capitalism has worked in America...it's only when the government throws wrenches in that the system breaks down.
You think America is a failure? Honestly? Capitalism has worked in America...
The solidification of monopolies like Standard Steel during the late 19th and early 20th century demonstrates how unregulated capitalism hurts competition.
Also, it was "socialistic" practices that helped soften the great depression during the 30's and "socialistic" practices in industry durign the 40's that pulled America out of its recession.
Yes-- as a template, capitalism has worked; but it has worked even better when coupled with regulations and complemented with government oversight and projects.

@huginn - I'll have to look up the Standard Steel case.As for the Great Depression...the New Deal was a failure. It was World War II that really ended the depression.
...the New Deal was a failure
Incorrect.
While the New Deal didn't pull the United States out of the Great Depression and into economic growth, it dampened the recession. It was the best approach to a losing situation.
As contrast, compare the New Deal to Hoover's economic policies. In cutting back government projects and increasing taxes, Herbert Hoover actually exacerbated the recession.
It was World War II that really ended the depression.
Again, incorrect.
Government control and conversion of American industry for the war effort was what ended the Depression. This control was more socialistic than capitalistic.
@NightCometh - (Sorry, Xanga keeps cutting off my "reply" tag. I'm double-posting this empty reply to get your attention.)
Mostly democrats, eh? I guess that's why we're in such great shape after 8 years of republicans.Honestly, when are you folks going to get your heads out of your arses & realize, neither party knows their head from a hole in the ground anymore? Instead of blaming one another, admit that they both suck.
@radicalramblings - I believe that I have said neither party knows what it is doing on many occasssions. This post is on a limited issue - abortion here and abroad - so stay focused please.
