Moments of Transition

"All of life can be broken down into moments of transition or moments of revelation ... There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is a darkness of the soul that has lost its way. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting for the moment of transition, the moment of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always bought in pain." -- G' Kar

Oh I remember who G'Kar is now Babylon Five. I don't watch enough TV to know. I don't think the future always brings great pain.  But a soul lost from God is certainly in the darkness. Judi

Death takes many forms, does it not?  Sometimes I wonder if the counter to death is just pure hope and faith.  Truly, that is what keeps me alive, and let's me move on and create my own transition from one event to another in my life.  It sounds so trivial, yet it's a concept that is hard to grasp in daily living:  the pendulum does swing, from darkness to light, yet we are not the providers of the motion in many cases.  We are the receivers - which is good in a sense.  We then have the chance to choose a reaction - death of a dream or perhaps the awakening of another dream, one that is meant to be, not what I think it should be.

(Pooped out this morning, prob. make no sense, but I am here somewhere with my first cup of coffee).

Hugs,

Lisa

Interesting quote. I agree that the darkness of the soul is the worst sort. I have worked very heard to pull many out of that pit. I am not quite so pessimistic about the future, however.

My sil, Sonworshiper above, emailed me your site.

Every optimistic.

EyeHatePeas: I'm not sure the "pessimistic" is the right word here. G'Kar was only saying that the future is born in pain and hardship. It may well be a really great future. It is the struggle to give that future birth that we deal with here.
